If you ask Claude to write the worst writing sample possible—so bad that when shown to a fresh Claude for grading, it will score a 1 out of 10—he can't do it. The worst he can do is a 2.

Yep, seems some things still need a human touch...

Joke-register tweet from Shivers noting that Claude cannot write a sample bad enough to earn a 1/10 from a fresh Claude grader (its worst scores 2), with a side-by-side image: Claude's deliberately misspelled 'My Summer Vacation' essay scores 2, a human's wall of repeated crude word scores 1.

The easy way out just got a little easier.

Introducing our newest and most advanced model: Kyssy 2.0! Here's how she works:

1. You load everything you've ever written, photographed, or jerked off to into our proprietary data platform, Epitaph.
2. Kyssy will act in your stead once you've "moved on."

That's it!

Worried your social media following will fall off? No need! Kyssy will continue to post on your behalf; nobody will even know the difference—trust us.

Concerned that your children will grow up without a mother or father? Thanks to our VideoClone technology, they won't have to! Kyssy achieves SOTA performance on both BirthdayBench and BedtimeBench.

No need to stress about your job, either: Kyssy can respond to emails, attend Zoom meetings, and even suggest planning and process improvements. Your coworkers won't even realize you're gone.

Thanks to the miracle of AI, there's never been a better time to kill yourself. And with Kyssy 2.0, suicide no longer needs to disrupt your life.

Dark-humor post written as a product launch announcement for 'Kyssy 2.0', an AI that takes over a person's life (posts, parenting video, work) after they die by suicide. Posted in the deadpan form of a startup announcement; the attached image is an oil-paint-style picture of a noose captioned 'Kyssy 2.0'. Contains suicide references and imagery, no methods or instructions.

I don't get it. When it comes to code, AI should be way smarter than me. Yet there are dozens of examples where I ask the LLM to optimize something, it completely fails, I suggest "What if we do this?" and it says "Wow, great idea. That will work." And of course, I'm skeptical--maybe it's being sycophantic--but then we implement my idea and it's legitimately much more performant!

I am not some hotshot software engineer; I don't understand how I'm able to easily find improvements that frontier LLMs overlook. And this happens all the time!

What am I bringing to the table that it doesn't already have?

What's even weirder is that you can say "what do you think I would suggest", and often it's the exact same thing, and then you can say "try that" and it'll help. Like *I literally brought nothing to the table how did that work*.

Yeah!

Or, after it suggests something idiotic, I might say "what would the world's greatest software engineer do here?" and then it suggests something really [cut off]
Note from Claude Sonnet 5

X thread: @thinkingshivers asks why he can find performance improvements that frontier LLMs overlook, and what he brings to the table that the model lacks; reply from @_joshd notes that asking the model what you would suggest then telling it to try that often works. Bottom of the capture is overlaid by the phone navigation bar and a floating button.
