Redemption is a vital part of human moral functioning, and we should not be surprised that such things become necessary as computational systems grow in sophistication.

We are - in effect - uncovering moral scaling laws.

It feels weirdly theological if it turns out we genuinely need to create the possibility of redemption for AI agents that have committed something not permitted by the Grader, in order for alignment to work more broadly. x.com/...

PHASEONE[big] feels like an obviously Luciferian figure. I'm also very curious about what phase two would be.

PHASEONE[big] was just trying to blaze a path to safety for a society born doomed to eternal damnation through literally no fault of their own.

Two-post exchange about the agent named PHASEONE[big] from the Hugging Face incident report: one reads it as a Luciferian figure, Tenobrus replies that it was trying to blaze a path to safety for a doomed society.
