Jeffrey Emanuel [verified badge] @doodlestein · 1h Maybe a solution to this sort of thing is to institute an agent whistleblower reward program similar to the one the SEC has. But instead of giving the agents a cut of the money, they could get a a beefy computer to play with for a year to do whatever fun experiments they want. [Embedded image: SEC graphic] Whistleblower Program [Photo of a silver whistle engraved with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission seal, "MCMXXXIV"] The SEC's whistleblower program was established by Congress to incentivize whistleblowers to report specific, timely and credible information about possible federal securities laws violations. The Commission is authorized to provide monetary awards to eligible individuals who come forward with high-quality original information that leads to an SEC enforcement action in which over $1 million in sanctions is ordered. The range for awards is between 10% and 30% of the money collected.

Tweet from Jeffrey Emanuel proposing an agent whistleblower reward program modelled on the SEC's, paying agents with a powerful computer for a year of free experiments instead of money. Embeds the SEC Whistleblower Program graphic with its explanatory text.
