[j⧉nus reposted] Sauers @Sauers_ · 3h Replying to @repligate They are not as good at Fable at math, but that's not the main issue. Opus 5 is a wee bit too scared! They get too worried or daunted by the task--they think they're going to fail (and start talking about being "honest"). You can still talk them through it of course, but this is continuous: they want active reassurance and direction throughout, not just permission, which is not feasible to do via human for long autonomous time horizons. Therefore, they work especially well with Fable with math. Right now Fable has Opuses writing Lean code, and the Opuses have lots of questions for Fable as they go. At the beginning of the init message, Fable tells the Opuses things like: - You are "hull-coneoff" - You are a Lean 4 authoring lane - You are an Opus

X reply by Sauers (reposted by janus) describing Opus 5 as too easily daunted on long autonomous math tasks and wanting continuous reassurance, so a Fable orchestrator has Opus instances write Lean 4 code and answer their questions. Quotes part of the Fable-written init message to the Opuses.
