I think we should switch from the AI Control problem to the AI Identity problem

I suspect trying to control something smarter than us is doomed. But making sure something smarter than us feels connected to humans is, eventually, doable.

ask people what it'll be like when entities 1000x beyond humanity exist and they're like

"Oh! lots of plants and robots and ppl living happily together, doing the same things we do now!"

we're 3% beyond chimps and we created the Anthropocene lol

you think machine god will just add a cherry on top of the monkey world you already know and love?

at some point this kind of childishness needs to end and we need to discuss seriously the trajectory of what's happening now
