This is related to a general problem with trying to pick governance over tech solutions: If you somehow passed a law that was based on a premise that was wrong, it's usually impossible to reverse, and there's very little iteratibility in politics.

This is a reason for why I don't believe claims that X unsolved problem in AIs will inevitably cause an AI winter and make timelines become long again, combined with some inside-view takes on what LLMs are missing.

Never ignore incentives to solve problems.
