Isn't putting METR & Redwood Research in charge of investigating the Hugging Face incident like putting Irregular in charge of cybersecurity testing?

This analogy doesn't make sense to me. Irregular is an oafishly incompetent cybersecurity eval outsource-contractor.

METR & Redwood are the crazy cracked outside orgs who have been warning the world for years that AI companies are investing too little in internal cybersecurity.

Ben Recht's tweet comparing METR and Redwood Research investigating the Hugging Face incident to putting Irregular in charge of cybersecurity testing, with a top reply (13s old when captured) from an account displayed as 'Nathan Helm-B...' disputing the analogy. The reply is a public post in the thread, so transcribed.
